Actor, singer, and all round queer icon Olly Alexander will be appearing on Michael McIntrye\u2019s Big Show<\/a><\/em> on Saturday (8 February), shortly after dropping his acclaimed new album, Polari<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally hailing from a town in North Yorkshire, Alexander has risen to fame as the lead singer of the band Years & Years as well as appearing in Russell T Davies\u2019 queer hit show It\u2019s A Sin<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s been open about his sexuality ever since Years & Years won the BBC\u2019s Sound of 2015, and he\u2019s also an advocate and campaigner for safer sex and HIV screening.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexander was previously in a relationship with fellow musician<\/a>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Neil Milan Amin-Smith, who was in Clean Bandit, but they split up in 2015 due to scheduling conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, he told Attitude Magazine: \u201cWe\u2019ve had less and less time to spend together and the time we did have together were such short periods it put so much pressure on our relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
